Highlands East Abbotsford Neighborhood is often mistaken for that of Eagle Mountain East Abbotsford BC. In Early 2026 The Neighborhood of the highlands experienced the first signs of development in the neighborhood in over 15 years. Residents began seeing Matcon Service vehicles showing up more and more, and by January 15th the logging and deforestation had began for Boffo Developments new housing plans. Residents of the highlands and local Realtor In Abbotsford Joe Pratap With Remax says regarding The Highlands Development: “People who live here like me have long thought development of the area would be a ways away, but its 2026 and here we are, the construction has began and the neighborhood will soon welcome some new neighbours in the years to come.” Pratap Goes On to say, Boffo Developments and builders have strong roots in our area, being the original developer here in the Highlands neighborhood, and building near by The Pines development located at 3457 Whatcom road, we knew it was coming, we hoped it would not be for a while still, but there is nothing we can do about it we will welcome new neighbours into the area over the next 2-5 Years.

Types of New Homes Coming to the Highlands
Although final building concepts and lot designs are not finished, it is rumoured the new homes coming to the Highlands neighborhood will be mostly single family homes with a small townhome site coming to the North East Side of Westview boulevard. There are no condos scheduled to be built in the highlands. What schools are in catchment for the highlands
The current schools in catchment if you live in the highlands is Prince Charles Elementary, Clayburn Middle School and Robert Bateman Secondary School. There is talk of a new school in the official community plan for the highlands, however those plans could be a decade away still. The choice school options are also close by, with Abbotsford Christian School just 5 minutes away, and MEI school around 15 minutes away. You have no shortage of good schools in this neighborhood.
